Tara embodies the Buddha’s enlightened activities, she has the ability to vanquish all negative forces that obstruct our spiritual practice such as contagious diseases, demonic forces, earthquakes, famine etc. With respect to the current pandemic, Gyumed Khensur Rinpoche Losang Jampa said recently:

“Our motivation must be to benefit all sentient beings and in that way we generate love and compassion. Tara can protect all who are suffering from illness, and so we should pray to Tara beseeching her to pacify the force of the illness and to protect everyone who is currently sick as well as those who will be sick from this and all types of illness and disease in the future. Ultimately may all be led to perfect happiness. The way to engage in this practice is first to bring to mind all those who are suffering this really terrible suffering, a disease that is spreading to other countries and affecting more and more people every day. Pray from the depth of your heart that they may be free of suffering (compassion), may they have the happiness that is free from such suffering (love) and having generated compassion and love, only then recite the Tara mantra. By doing the practice in this way, on the basis of love and compassion, the practice will be incredibly meaningful. Tara’s aspiration is to swiftly protect beings from illness, poison, disease, so we pray to her.”

By offering praises to Tara and reciting her holy mantra, we come under her care.

Ani Losang Tendrol, under the guidance of Geshe Losang Dhargye, will lead this retreat.   which givesIt will give us the opportunity to accumulate merit and purify negativities through the practice of Tara. The short text used for the retreat was carefully prepared by Geshe Dhargye, it captures the essence of guru yoga practice performed in relation to Tara.

Tara is an Action tantra practice. Participants should maintain both bodily and mental cleanliness during the retreat. Also, do not eat foods that can cause disturbances -- meat, onions, eggs, and garlic.

Participants are welcome to join for as many sessions as they have time for.
